SIM Engineer I

Job Summary
Design, validate, and maintain electrical and logical profiles for SIM and eSIM products while developing Java Card applets that ensure compliance with 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards. Create technical documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning mobile core networks and device vendors, and utilize smart card test tools to verify quality and performance. Support end-to-end SIM/eSIM ordering and provisioning processes through the development, testing, and integration of SIM-based applications. New hires work onsite five days a week during the six-month probation period, followed by a flexible arrangement of up to eight work-from-home days per month.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of relevant experience in telecoms technology, connectivity, or related sectors
- Proven experience with SIM/eSIM technologies and protocols (APDU, ISO 7816)
- Knowledge of 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards
- Experience with Java, Java Card, or scripting languages
- Familiarity with mobile network elements and smart card technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Quality-focused mindset

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- New hires at Cubic3 are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Git, Postman, or smart card test tools (e.g., Comprion)
- Exposure to Kanban/Agile methodologies
