Job Summary

Carve pumpkins, hang seasonal displays, and move heavy materials to prepare the Pumpkin Show and Winterlights venues. Greet guests, scan tickets, staff the historic house, and operate concessions while managing crowd flow and wayfinding. Operate shifts from Monday through Sunday, handling both setup and run-of-show duties in all weather conditions. This seasonal role supports the Engagement and Stewardship teams to create unforgettable experiences for thousands of visitors at Naumkeag.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow etc.)
  • Be on your feet for hours at a time
  • Frequently walk up and down hills/stairs
  • Push/pull and lift heavy objects
  • Must be comfortable working on a ladder
  • Be able to lift 20+ pounds
  • Excellent 'people skills' to work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, and the public
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member
  • Current authorization to work in the United States
  • A valid driver's license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees' driving policy
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check
  • Applicants must be willing to work both event set up and run of show hours
  • Must be available for event set up hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm
  • Must be available for Pumpkin Show run of show hours: Oct 1st - 31st
  • Must be available for Winterlights set up hours: Nov 1st - Nov 27th
  • Must be available for Winterlights run of show hours: Nov 27th - Jan 3rd
  • Must be available for Winterlights break down hours: Jan 3rd - on
  • Must be available for daytime shift doing Winterlights set up (optional)
  • Must be able to provide exceptional guest service during event operations
  • Must be able to greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Must be able to check in guests and scan tickets
  • Must be able to staff the historic house and answer visitor questions
  • Must be able to operate concessions and assist guests with food and beverage purchases
  • Must be able to serve as a floater providing support wherever needed
  • Must be able to assist with wayfinding, crowd management, and maintaining a safe, enjoyable experience for all visitors
  • Must be able to respond to guest questions and represent The Trustees with a friendly, professional attitude
