Job Summary
Deliver and remove temporary traffic management signage for the Highway Delivery workforce across sites in Leicestershire. Install, maintain, and remove traffic control systems including road closures and diversions, act as banksman/signaller, and support highway maintenance activities (drainage, forestry, street lighting) to ensure safe traffic flow. Role may include call-out duties for evenings, weekends and public holidays. Requires NRSWA Operative qualification and a valid driving licence; additional qualifications (NHSS12 A/B, M1/M2/M3, CPC) are desirable. Emphasis on safety, compliance with Chapter 8 regulations, and effective communication with customers and colleagues; adaptable, calm under pressure, and able to work with a team and across multiple sites. This is a Safety Critical Post with random drug and alcohol testing and a commitment to inclusive service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) Operative
- valid Driving Licence
- experience of working in a highways or civil engineering environment
- experience of safe installation of Temporary Traffic Management including road closures and diversions and installation/maintenance/removal of traffic control systems
- ability to work with team, self-motivated, well organized, use initiative
- flexible and able to respond to customers & colleagues
- commitment to safety and compliance with Chapter 8 Traffic Management Regulations and related procedures
