Job Summary
As a Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Experienced) in Houston, TX, you will inspect, service, diagnose, and repair Cat diesel-powered equipment and construction machinery. Responsibilities include set-up, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance; component replacement across hydraulics, fuel systems, transmissions, undercarriage, and electrical systems. You can work in Shop Service or Field Service (company-provided service truck) servicing customers at job sites, while upholding high safety standards. Strong diagnostic skills with Cat ET or similar tools are required; welding/fabrication experience and OEM training are strongly preferred. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Own tools required to perform heavy equipment repairs
- Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Hands-on experience with transmissions, track systems, components, and fuel systems
- Previous experience with Caterpillar or competitive earthmoving equipment brands
- Proficient in technical diagnostics and able to use Cat ET (Electronic Technician) or similar systems
