Job Summary
Occupational Therapist (OT) for pediatric home health will implement treatment programs to assist pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory and social/emotional needs by planning and administering occupational therapy in the home and community. Responsibilities include performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals for the child; creating and implementing OT treatment plans in conjunction with the physician; assisting pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development; implementing skilled interventions to maximize independence; educating and empowering caregivers to carry over therapeutic activities; coordinating with referral partners to provide services; designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; documenting care in an electronic medical record system; maintaining patient confidentiality. Requirements include state license and current CPR certification; a minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
