Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one thirty-minute tutoring sessions covering grammar, pronunciation, and course material while reviewing homework and guiding written and oral assignments. Facilitate interactive speaking and listening exercises to build real-world conversation skills and assist students with presentations and exam reviews. Perform brief fifteen-minute class visits to introduce yourself and explain STARFISH usage, then set up and manage office hours in the system. Submit weekly timesheets via My-Day and communicate immediately regarding cancellations or scheduling conflicts. Participate in cultural events and complete required administrative, pedagogical, and technological training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Native or near native fluency in the target language
- Strong English communication skills
- Currently enrolled at the New School University
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a prior tutor in high school or other institutions in the country or abroad
- Advanced knowledge of literature, grammar, writing and speaking in the target language
- Strong and interpersonal skills such as patience, empathy, respect and tolerance to students diverse opinions
