Job Summary
Sorenson Communications seeks a Sign Language Interpreter for Video Relay Services (VRS) to effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English. The role requires compliance with licensure and certification requirements, accuracy in completing tasks and paperwork, and maintaining a flexible work schedule. Candidates must demonstrate strong ASL knowledge and skills, pass a skills assessment, hold a high school diploma or GED (preferably with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree), and possess interpreter certification as mandated by local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in ASL
- Ability to pass required skills assessment
- Interpreter certification (as required by local regulations)
- A high school diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated and customer service focused environment
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools and to handle other computer components
