Sign Language Interpreter - VRS - Part Time - St. Augustine, Florida
Job Summary
Provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpreting services effectively, maintaining compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements and Sorenson standards. Demonstrate full adherence to the FCC regulations and the RID Code of Professional Conduct. Individuals must possess the ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the Video Relay Service industry, quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies, and work effectively in a team environment under oversight that may include call monitoring, mentoring, and evaluations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in ASL
- Ability to pass required skills assessment
- Regular and predictable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Interpreter certification as required by local regulations
- 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
