Job Summary
Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English while maintaining compliance with national, state, or local licensure requirements and FCC regulations. Accurately complete assigned tasks, projects, and paperwork promptly within approved guidelines. Troubleshoot basic technical issues and quickly learn new technologies to support Video Relay Service operations. Work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment under team oversight, including call monitoring and evaluations. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet industry demands and enhance skills through continued education training.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in ASL
- Ability to pass our required skills assessment
- A high school diploma or GED
- Interpreter certification (as required by local regulations)
- 3 years' experience working as an interpreter
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools and to handle other computer components
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively in an environment with oversight
- Ability to maintain, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
- Demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson standards and policies, FCC regulations and the RID Code of Professional Conduct
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to complete additional duties and assignments on an on-going basis
Desired Qualifications
- An associate's or bachelor's degree
