Job Summary
Part-time interpreters are needed to provide high-quality interpretation services for Deaf consumers. Responsibilities include interpreting between ASL and spoken English, adhering to policies and the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct, providing customer service, and working effectively in a team. Candidates should have strong ASL skills, a high school diploma, preferred certification and experience, flexibility in scheduling, and be able to travel independently. Compliance with national, state, or local licensure and certification requirements may also be necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in ASL
- Ability to pass required skills assessment
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area
- Where driving is required – access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and personal vehicular insurance at the minimum state required level
Desired Qualifications
- Interpreter certification (as required by local regulations)
- 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred)
