Job Summary
Join Sorenson Communications as a part-time Sign Language Interpreter providing interpreting services for Deaf consumers across various community locations. Responsibilities include interpreting between ASL and spoken English, adhering to company policies, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining compliance with certification requirements, and working effectively in team settings. Candidates must have a strong command of ASL and English, a high school diploma or GED, and interpreter certification as per local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in ASL
- Ability to pass required skills assessment
- A high school diploma or GED
- Interpreter certification (as required by local regulations)
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area
- Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and personal vehicular insurance at the minimum state required level
- 3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)
Additional Requirements
- Available to new applicants and current Sorenson non-exempt employees in good standing
- Must take and pass a screening for verification of skill sets
