Job Summary

Conduct daily diagnostic imaging coverage on newly operational Siemens G145 wind turbine generators, identifying faults in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure operational integrity. Lead small teams while maintaining safety, competency, and productivity standards for assigned individuals. Perform maintenance tasks, component replacements, and retrofits as required, adhering to strict safety procedures and company policies. Maintain comprehensive documentation and report technical and safety issues as mandated. Work an 8-week on, 1-week off rotation with extensive travel across the U.S. and Canada, including driving up to 11 hours per day. This role supports GEV Wind Power's market leadership in rotor blade maintenance, contributing to the global energy transition by ensuring renewable energy infrastructure remains efficient and reliable.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful experience troubleshooting Siemens Gamesa G114, G126, G132, SG145 or Vestas 3.X or 4.X wind turbines
  • Citizen of or eligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time (valid passport required)
  • Ability to work an 8-week on, 1 week off rotation
  • Physically able to safely climb wind turbines up to 90m+ (300+ feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, stoop and generally meet the physical demands of the position
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and to spend extended periods away from home at project sites
  • Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required
  • Able to work safely in outdoor environments under both extreme heat and cold conditions
  • Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment
  • Must have solid knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Must have maintenance experience, including knowledge of using grease guns, filter changes, using ERAD system, doing torquing and tensioning and similar service
  • Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
  • GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
  • SGRE Basic Technician Training/Troubleshooter certified (Family 3 preferred)
  • OSHA 10 General Industry
  • Applicable Siemens Gamesa Technical eLearning
  • Crane, Chain Hoist and Rigging Safety Training
  • NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer training or experience with Touchscreen Controller Hand Terminals
