Job Summary
Design and oversee practice plans, game strategies, and overall team development for the Sideline Cheer Program. Mentor student-athletes, focusing on their athletic, academic, and personal growth while conducting individual and team training sessions. Coordinate team logistics, including scheduling practices and games, and maintain accurate records of team performance and uniform inventory. Represent the program at school events, meetings, and community functions to foster support and visibility. Communicate with families weekly to provide updates on team progress and athlete development. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, league rules, and safety regulations while upholding professional standards and Dawson's core values.
Required Qualifications
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Must pass annual background checks
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to connect with and motivate students, fostering a love for the sport and teamwork
- Knowledge of the developmental needs of young athletes and the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment
- Must be able to stand and walk
- Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- First Aid & CPR Certification is required (certification can be obtained after hiring if not currently held)
- Previous coaching experience preferred
