Job Summary
Part-time Shuttle Driver at Glenaire on the campus in Cary, NC. Responsibilities include transporting residents and employees using cars, buses, and shuttles; assisting with loading/unloading of belongings; maintaining vehicle appearance and performing day-to-day vehicle maintenance; using GPS for routing; addressing residents’ questions and concerns; coordinating with the Director of Wellness and transportation staff; flexible schedule typically between 7 am and 9 pm with 20-30 hours per week and possible on-call shifts. Requirements include English proficiency, a clean driving record, ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and adherence to drug and criminal background checks; prefer genuine interest in working with older adults, vehicle maintenance knowledge, and stamina for transferring residents.
Required Qualifications
- Able to speak and understand English
- Clean driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with residents, families, staff and outside constituents
- Negative report upon drug screening and criminal record report in conformity with requirements of employee manual
- Pleasant personality, patient, understanding and courteous
- Dependable, accountable and able to work under pressure
- Genuine interest in working with older adults
- Vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Stamina and ability to transfer residents for transportation purposes
