Job Summary
Perform vehicle inspections, maintain bus interior cleanliness, fuel buses, and log trip counts while assisting disabled passengers. Arrive at work every scheduled day on time in uniform, carrying a valid state-issued driver's license and maintaining an acceptable DMV record. Courteously answer customer questions, direct them to the Facility Manager as needed, and report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences immediately. Communicate debris, water, and oil spills to the garage office, substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized, and assist customers with luggage. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the local area.
Required Qualifications
- Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Acceptable DMV record
- DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate)
- Availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company
- Ability to add, subtract, two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands to handle cash and equipment
- Ability to sit
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance
- Ability to be in complete uniform at all times
