Job Summary
Operate a truck to transfer or drop off trailers between facilities, yards, and docks, ensuring necessary paperwork is completed and trailer temperatures are monitored with immediate notification of any issues. Maintain proper fuel levels for reefers and handle physical tasks such as pushing and pulling product tanks weighing up to 1500 pounds using a hand dolly or jack. Work within temperature extremes while wearing required safety gear, including a safety vest and radio. Participate in team meetings and foster cohesiveness by addressing policy changes and operational issues to achieve synergy. Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems and communicate improvement ideas. Apply in person at the Emporia, KS Hiring Center between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm for priority consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current CDL Class A license
- 1 years of driving experience (DOT- specific)
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to push and pull tanks of product weighing up to 1500 pounds by use of a hand dolly or jack
- Must be able to work in temperature extremes
- Must be able to wear a safety vest
- Must be able to use a radio
