Job Summary
Operates shuttle car in an underground coal mine, performing tasks such as visually inspecting shuttle car and roadways, installing or relocating shuttle car anchor points, tram operations to load and return to dumping point, and assisting with moving miners and cables while adhering to safety requirements and company/SOP regulations. Requires knowledge of the underground mining cycle, good hand/foot/eye coordination, and compliance with safety policies. Training includes underground miner certification and annual refresher; on-the-job experience is expected. The role emphasizes dexterity and attention to changing geological conditions in a coal seam environment.
Required Qualifications
- Underground coal miner's certificate
- Annual 8 hour refresher training
- On-the-job experience
- Vocation training (optional)
- Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management
