Job Summary
Move and position trailers, containers, and trucks within the yard as directed while performing regular yard checks to monitor trailer locations. Coordinate with dispatchers, drivers, and yard staff to ensure efficient flow of equipment, and conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of shunt trucks and trailers. Complete basic paperwork, maintain accurate records, and follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents or delays. Requires a valid driver's license, clean abstract, CVOR, and criminal background check, plus 2-3 years of shunting experience. Pay rate is $26 per hour for overnight shifts from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Clean Abstract and CVOR and a criminal background check
- Prior experience of 2-3 years as a shunter
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and yard operations
