Job Summary
Contribute to the design, rehearsal, and delivery of approximately 10 shows weekly, including opening and closing ceremonies, while performing in a small ensemble using songs and storytelling to engage audiences of 20 to 60 viewers. Collaborate on creative development of scripts, set lists, and staging, and support pre-show rehearsals, event setup, and packing of equipment. Work with other program areas to ensure smooth event flow and model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership and abide by staff handbook policies. Requires 45 to 55 hours weekly, including the ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily while lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp
- Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform
- Work Hours: 45-55 hours
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in music performance, theatre and/or event production
- Musical ability (instrumental or vocal)
- Experience in old time, bluegrass, folk, and associated genres
- Strong stage presentation skills and comfortable speaking, singing, and performing in front of groups 10-300 people
- Scouting experience
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
