Job Summary
Lead the show staff team in planning, rehearsing, and performing opening/closing ceremonies for Scouting guests while guiding the creative process for scripting, set lists, and production design. Foster a positive team culture through mentorship, assign roles and schedules, and perform musically or theatrically alongside the group as needed. Model the Scout Oath and Law, maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to SBR staff handbook policies. Work 45-55 hours daily, standing and hiking up to 8 hours while lifting up to 50 pounds, with a 10'x12' platform tent provided in Staff Camp.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in theater, live performance, music, and/or event production
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Work Hours: 45-55 hours
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in music performance, theatre and/or event production are preferred
- Musical ability (instrumental or vocal) is strongly preferred; especially in old time, bluegrass, folk, musical genres
- Very comfortable speaking, singing, or performing in front of groups between 10-300
- Scouting experience preferred
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
