Job Summary
Show Editor/Producer for The World responsible for shaping editorial output and the show’s voice, alternating between producing the broadcast and editing stories, commissioning and editing pieces, crafting host intros and promotional materials, mentoring producers/reports, and collaborating with editors and the digital team to develop cross-platform content. Requires expertise in radio production and editing, strong understanding of international affairs, newsroom leadership experience, ability to shepherd stories from editorial meetings to live on air, and a commitment to journalistic rigor, clarity, and engaging storytelling. Boston-based hybrid role with on-site requirements two days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years of experience in broadcast news productions/editorial
- Minimum 2-3 years experience managing a team
- Strong editing skills with professional-grade software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition)
- Demonstrated ability to write/edit host copy with clarity and tone
- Ability to guide interns or junior producers
- Experience coordinating with digital teams for cross-platform content
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Experience with creating and delivering segments and long-form features on global/news topics
