Job Summary
Shotfirer responsible for loading, detonating, and supervising blasts in compliance with safety regulations and blast designs; perform pre-blast inspections, collaborate with drillers and supervisors to ensure accurate blast patterns, maintain explosives storage and handling, complete blast reports, monitor environmental conditions to minimize impact, and ensure the blast area is secured before detonation. Requires experience in drill and blast operations, explosives knowledge, a current Shotfirer Licence, a Dangerous Goods Security Card, and a WA Driver’s license; HR Licence is advantageous. Position offers 8:6 roster, superannuation, ongoing training, parental leave, discounts, wellbeing resources, and referral incentives, within MACA's mining/contracting operations in WA.
Required Qualifications
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Current Shotfirer Licence
- Experience in drill and blast operations
- Knowledge of explosives and blasting techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Current WA Drivers licence
