Job Summary
Optimize gas and electricity portfolios across Day-Ahead and Intraday markets by balancing technical, economic, and regulatory constraints to maximize value. Collaborate with colleagues in Optimization, Forecasting, Pricing, Middle Office, Back Office, Generation, and Finance to continuously align short-term optimization strategies. Contribute to advanced optimization solutions using AI, machine learning, automation, and forecasting models to enhance market performance. Identify improvement opportunities through market analysis and performance monitoring, adapting strategies for trading, battery storage, renewable assets, and flexibility products. Support operational excellence by monitoring results, defining KPIs, preparing analyses, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and risk frameworks. Coordinate business and IT projects to improve tools and processes while coaching colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Engineering or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the energy sector, utilities or commodities markets, where you developed a strong understanding of market dynamics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities that enable you to translate complex information into practical actions and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills that allow you to advise stakeholders, transfer knowledge and collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience working independently while remaining highly organized, proactive and focused on quality and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of electricity and gas markets, Microsoft Office, Python and modern AI or machine-learning technologies, combined with fluency in English, Dutch and French
