Job Summary
Conduct transfers of liquid cargos while following all safety, environmental, and barge processes to ensure incident-free operations. Perform pre-transfer barge inspections, minor maintenance on pumps, and equipment checks. Serve as a liaison with customer dock personnel and act as the first-line emergency responder. Maintain on-call availability and travel independently within the Chicagoland area. Candidates must hold a U.S. Merchant Mariner's endorsement, valid TWIC, and a driver's license, and must pass a physical including a respirator fit test. This role requires climbing ladders, lifting heavy marine equipment, and repetitive bending.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass a physical which includes a respirator fit test and requires candidate to be clean shaven
- Must live in the Chicagoland area
- U.S. Merchant Mariner's endorsement as a PIC/DL
- Current, valid TWIC I
