Job Summary
Read blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine job requirements for constructing carbon and stainless-steel tanks. Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions, then perform grinding, dressing, and finishing to meet specifications. Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment while utilizing tools like plasma cutters, torches, and shears to fabricate, assemble, and modify parts. Ensure welds meet quality standards through self-inspection and rework as necessary. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with shop safety procedures. Work Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4/10-hour shifts) in a fabrication shop with exposure to loud noise, welding fumes, and heavy machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years welding experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs using safe lifting techniques
- Proficient in all welding positions and fabrication techniques
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and quality assurance in all tasks
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including: Safety glasses with side shields, Hearing protection, Welding hoods and gloves, Steel toe boots (required)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
- Familiarity with both MIG and TIG welding processes
- Prior work with stainless steel tanks or industrial fabrication projects is a plus
