Job Summary
Oversee all activity in the installation shop by mastering torque/re-torque procedures for each vehicle. Mount, balance, and install tires and wheels using tire and balancing machines while ensuring paperwork for installs or removals is completed properly. Place product and supply orders, check-in delivered merchandise, and label items with item numbers. Organize delivered merchandise according to customer orders, handle return-to-vendor merchandise, and identify and tag turned-in products. Clean and maintain turned-in products, control parts spending, and ensure proper tools and equipment are always in the shop. Maintain a system for storing used tires and provide excellent customer service. Requires TIA certification, valid driver's license, and ability to work safely in a noisy garage environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge as an automotive technician, auto tech, tire tech, wheel specialist, or alignment tech
- Ability to read work orders
- Basic counting skills
- Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Knowledge of industry standard software
- Valid state driver license with a clean driving history
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. regularly
- Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed
- Good vision to inspect repair work
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
