Job Summary
Assist with the assembly and preparation of fire and life safety system components and materials. Support pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and general fabrication activities. Inspect, clean, and prepare equipment and materials for field installation and service. Receive and organize materials, ensure proper storage within the shop, and maintain tools and work areas in safe and working condition. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on tools, assist with loading and unloading materials, and prepare job shipments. Follow work orders, instructions, and basic drawings to complete assigned tasks while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ lbs regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Use of hands and arms for handling tools, materials, and equipment
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of mechanical, warehouse, or construction experience
- Experience in fire protection or life safety systems
- Familiarity with NFPA standards
