Job Summary
Conduct regular repair, adjustment, cleaning, and preparation of batteries for shipment. Load and unload trucks, receive returned materials, and discharge remaining battery power prior to servicing. Wash, clean, and neutralize returned batteries; remove, disassemble, and inspect cells. Replace defective parts, reassemble units, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch. Fill cells with acid solution, determine specific gravity, and attach chargers to control current flow. Provide quality control on all work performed. Safely operate company vehicles and forklifts to transport materials or evaluate defective equipment offsite. Follow all company policies regarding safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards. This part-time role includes 24-30 hours per week with two weeks of training.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the internet
- Knowledge of basic tools and equipment
- Forklift Certified or willing to train
- Clean and current Driver's license (MVR check) in the applying State
- Working experience with soldering and welding equipment
