Job Summary
Shop Technician responsible for skilled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of engines and compressors at a Robstown, TX location. The role emphasizes performing maintenance tasks, adhering to company policies, completing required paperwork, developing technical skills, and contributing to a team environment. The position requires strong compressor and engine maintenance proficiency, troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical control systems, mechanical aptitude, tool ownership, ability to learn from training, and good communication skills; candidates should be able to work set hours and pass background/drug testing, with a preference for formal vocational training and extensive compressor experience (8+ years). Safety and professional image are stressed, along with willingness to use computers as diagnostic tools and to participate in ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal vocational training preferred
- 8+ years of compressor maintenance experience
- Caterpillar and Waukesha engine experience
- Ariel, GE, and other gas compressor experience
- Emissions controls, Control Panel and I&E experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have full set of hand tools
- Able to pass drug and background testing
- English language proficiency
