Job Summary
Looking for a Shop Technician to promote safety, prepare repair orders, and work effectively within the shop and on road calls. Responsibilities include complying with and updating knowledge of DOT regulations, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and communicating with the Maintenance Supervisor. Minimum qualifications require a high school education or equivalent, with a willingness to obtain ASE Brake certification shorty after hiring. Candidates should possess technical knowledge for inspecting and repairing equipment and should demonstrate dependability, good attendance, and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education or equivalent
- Should possess or be willing to obtain ASE Brake certification within the first 180 days of employment
- Meet qualification requirement as stipulated in Section 396.19 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as required to perform vehicle inspections
- Meet qualification requirements as stipulated in Section 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as required to perform brake maintenance/repairs
- Ability to safely operate tractor/trailer unit within terminal premises
- Technical knowledge of various required components including air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs, able to handle components exceeding 100lbs in weight.
- Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
- Basic mechanics skills
- Through knowledge of DOT regulations and company standards
Desired Qualifications
- ASE certifications preferred
