Job Summary
The Shop Technician is responsible for the construction and wiring of electrical control panels used in industrial automation. Key duties include reading and interpreting schematics, fabricating and assembling panels, performing point-to-point wiring, and troubleshooting wiring issues. The role requires mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to use test equipment, and strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related technical coursework
- High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience in control panel construction
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
- High standards of quality and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
