Job Summary
Shop Tech I at Harmon, Inc. supports metal and glass fabrication, assembly, and packaging with little supervision. Read shop drawings and blueprints to cut, fabricate, and assemble window framing materials using manual and power tools; load/off-load tasks with forklift and overhead crane; inspect and package frames prior to shipment; stage products and manage inventory; handle insulated glass units; contribute to daily productivity goals; participate in 5S and continuous-improvement efforts; collaborate with a team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Overtime available on a 10-hour shift (Monday-Thursday).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills
- Effective communication skills
- Curtain wall industry experience highly preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to a safe & enjoyable work environment
- Able to walk, bend, twist, squat and climb on an occasional basis
- Able to push, pull, and lift between 30 and 60 pounds
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the CNC machine can perform the correct function
