Job Summary
Shop Supervisor role at Baton Rouge Service Center overseeing manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include assisting the Service Center Manager to ensure smooth flow of work across procurement, fabrication, assembly, and finishing operations; leading shop floor personnel to maximize utilization and productivity; ensuring safety, quality compliance, and contractual compliance; tracking and expediting goods with vendors; managing time and attendance; conducting safety and productivity inspections; documenting As-Found/As-Built data during tear-downs and assembly; developing repair strategies to meet customer requirements; creating detailed work scopes and parts lists; overseeing EH&S activities; coordinating hazardous waste disposal; cross-training shop personnel; and occasionally expediting outside procurement to minimize delays. Key skills include leadership, strong communication, SAP, Excel, Outlook, welding and machining knowledge, and ability to interpret maintenance manuals; must be authorized to work in the country of location.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 year technical degree or related coursework preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in a repair facility or manufacturing environment, managing shop floor personnel
- Experience in pump and industrial equipment repair with understanding of machining, welding, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, SAP, Excel, Word, and PDF editors such as Adobe or Nuance
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance and repair manuals
- Ability to lead a workshop and associated work crews to accomplish goals
