Job Summary
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on Caterpillar and allied heavy equipment. Repair, rebuild, and overhaul major components while performing inspections and preventative maintenance. Disassemble and reassemble systems, complete service reporting, and stay current with evolving tools and technology. Work safely and collaboratively with your team using your own tools. Full-time union position in Richmond, VA, with a salary of $28.50–$47.49/hour based on experience. Requires 2+ years of heavy equipment or diesel technician experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of heavy equipment or diesel technician experience
- Diesel Tech degree
- Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical, and drivetrains
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (service systems & documentation)
- Your own tools
