Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control in pipe fabrication and structural welding, ensuring full compliance with CSA, ASME, and CWB standards. Review welding procedures, isometric drawings, and fabrication standards while monitoring welding processes and techniques. Conduct fit-up, in-process, and final inspections of welded pipe spools and structural components; identify nonconforming items and oversee corrective action plans. Maintain inspection records, weld maps, and traceability documentation. Liaise with third-party inspectors, clients, and regulatory bodies; verify measurement equipment calibration and support material receiving inspections. Participate in internal and external audits and lead NCR investigations and root cause analysis. Requires active CWB Welding Inspector registration with CSA Standard W178.2-18 and CWB W59 Inspector Level I.
Required Qualifications
- Active registration with the Canadian Welding Bureau as a Welding Inspector with CSA Standard W178.2-18
- Hold a valid CWB W59 Inspector Level I
- Interpreting Isometric drawings
- ability to measure fabricated components / assemblies
- understanding welding symbols and weld faults
- Working knowledge of CSA W47.1 and W59
- Basic knowledge of NDT processes
- Entry Level or 1-3 years of experience in workshop environment
