Job Summary
Perform truck and trailer inspections to meet internal and DOT requirements, accurately complete required paperwork, and diagnose, rebuild, and repair equipment for the heavy truck and trailer fleet. Enter repair records from the previous day, order parts, and submit necessary paperwork. Keep vehicles and work areas clean by washing trucks, sweeping floors, and organizing buildings and grounds. Set up new vehicles with parts for timely transition to the field. Maintain a clean work environment and perform other duties as required. This role supports Harms Oil's fleet operations across Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, and Omaha.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year experience in the maintenance
- proven knowledge of vehicle diagnosis and repair
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle equipment repair and maintenance
- Versatility, with a demonstrated ability to change tasks and direction with a moment's notice
- Excellent problem solving skills
- high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Automotive Technology or Diesel Technology education preferred
- Knowledge of the freight or fuel transport industry preferred
- Welding knowledge, with experience in fabrication
