Job Summary
Shop Mechanic on 1st & 2nd shift in Skippack, PA responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks. Reads job orders and observes equipment operation to determine malfunctions and plan procedures. Installs ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts. Replaces gas or diesel engines. Inspects guards, bolts, and safety devices; lubricates and services vehicles. Fabricates lifting or towing attachments and hydraulic systems per schematic drawings. Performs collision repair, sanding, prepping, and painting; completes standard maintenance and ensures state inspections are met for trucks and trailers. Requires CDL and may require up to 75 pounds lifting; OSHA/MSHA safety certifications preferred. Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
- Clean driving record
