Job Summary
Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions in electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks by observing and listening to equipment in operation. Install ignition systems, align wheels, replace batteries and transmissions, and service vehicles while adhering to OSHA and H&K safety policies. Fabricate special attachments according to schematics, perform collision repair, sand, prep, and paint, and ensure state inspection requirements are met. Complete standard maintenance on trucks and equipment. This role requires a Class A or B CDL and one year of diesel mechanics training or two years of related experience. Pay ranges from $18 to $35 per hour based on skill set.
Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field
- 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
- Clean driving record
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Hours regularly exceed 40 in a week and 8 in a day
Desired Qualifications
- 4 years of related experience and/or training
- State Inspection license
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
