Job Summary
Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, troubleshoot equipment problems, and communicate vehicle availability to dispatch and operations personnel. Directly supervise shop staff, overseeing hiring, firing, training, performance reviews, and daily work direction. Review repair orders, approve account payables, order parts and fuel, and subcontract repair work while ensuring compliance with State, Federal, and Company requirements. Manage maintenance budgets, initiate efficiency projects, and ensure safe working conditions for the school district fleet. Requires hands-on work, valid driver's license, and willingness to obtain CDL training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to obtain CDL while employed
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program
- Must be able to work in a crouched position or on back lying on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicle equipment
- Subjected to dust, dirt, and grease conditions
