Job Summary
Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and shop staff, setting the standard for safety, efficiency, and quality. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel vehicles and heavy machinery, rebuilding major components like heads, blocks, and transmissions. Collaborate with operations to schedule repairs and minimize downtime, ensuring the fleet stays delivery-ready. Keep detailed records of all work and stay current on industry best practices. Pitch in wherever needed to get the job done.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Shop Manager, or Lead Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to complete SRM's pre-employment screenings
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the concrete or heavy equipment industry
- Vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair
- CDL
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair complex issues
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work
- Strong leadership, communication, and teaching skills
