Shop Machinist - DSS

Job Summary
Machinist performs inspection of equipment for salvage possibilities and manufactures parts by reading blueprints, bills of materials, shop orders, or sample parts. Sets controls for feed, speeds, and tolerances; selects and aligns fixtures and tools; executes turning and grinding operations on CNC and manual machines; conducts in-process inspections to ensure production standards and quality. Collaborates with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues and adheres to company and HSE policies. Requires 3-5 years machining experience, ability to read technical documentation and schematics, basic welding knowledge, and proficiency with measuring tools and arithmetic; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and willing to overtime/on-call.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of prior machining experience
- Ability to read and understand English
- Ability to read and understand parts books, service manuals, schematics and fabrication blueprints
- Basic understanding of welding process
- Ability to read and comprehend service literature, basic measuring tools and basic arithmetic
- Knowledge of systems on various equipment and ability to apply knowledge daily
- Basic mechanical knowledge
