Job Summary
Conduct inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment following established procedures while supervising and training service employees to meet departmental goals. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, disassemble and assemble machine components, and rebuild or recondition parts to manufacturer specifications. Provide quality control inspections, plan repair job costs, complete parts orders, and maintain work areas in clean, orderly condition. Achieve labor sales and utilization expectations, communicate customer needs to management, and perform supervisor duties during absences. Adhere to all safety policies, work overtime as required, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted in a non-climate controlled environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals
- Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally manage the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines
- Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and collaborate with the customer in a professional manner
- Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
- High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Must be able to lift varied weights
- Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting to 50 Ibs. unassisted
- Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
- Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials
- Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment
- Extensive knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proficient with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Quality control analysis skills - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance and communicate findings
- Operation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systems
- Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures
