Job Summary
Support daily shop operations by assisting production and manufacturing staff, loading and unloading materials, parts, and finished goods at workstations. Perform basic machine setup tasks under supervision, including material loading, cleaning, and staging. Conduct simple visual inspections to identify defects, then deburr, clean, label, and package parts according to work instructions. Assist with assembly, finishing, or secondary operations as required while maintaining a clean, organized work area following 5S and safety guidelines. Deliver materials, tools, and paperwork to appropriate departments as needed. Work Monday through Thursday from 6:00am to 12:00pm in a loud environment, using hand and power tools to perform all other duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
- Frequent moderate physical effort capability
- Ability to use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to see details of an object from a distance and close-up
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret and manipulate simple computer software programs
- Ability to read and input programs into machinery
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
- Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to take and understand measurements in millimeters
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
