Job Summary
Supervises and trains Shop Hands in various responsibilities including upkeep of machines, loading materials, housekeeping, and conducting forklift training. Responsibilities also include minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment. Candidates should possess leadership abilities and have experience in maintenance. Physical requirements include the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for long periods. Reliable transportation and strong communication skills are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year experience in maintenance capacity
- Ability to gain cooperation from other employees and lead them in work functions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to operate powered trucks, such as forklift and pallet jack
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Basic math skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to read and write English
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
- Be able to prioritize and take direction without hesitation
- Strong communication skills and good attention to detail
- Excellent attendance with the requirement for overtime work as needed
- High level of dedication and motivation
- Positive attitude and willingness to train in other areas
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership experience preferred
- Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical and Manufacturing experience helpful
