Job Summary
Supervise welders, steel fitters, and machine operators in a unionized environment while organizing parts production for Saint John and Fredericton shops. Ensure products are fabricated efficiently and safely according to blueprints, exercising authority to enforce policies and procedures. Provide coaching and training support to achieve effective delegation across apprentices and journeypersons. Solve various shop issues and observe schedules to ensure all orders are filled completely. Shift work is inherent to this position. As part of the OSCO Construction Group, you will contribute to structural steel fabrication and platework manufacturing for markets across Canada and the Eastern Seaboard.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced tradesperson or engineering technology graduate with experience in welding & fabrication
- Previous supervisor training/experience
- Class 5 Drivers license
- Must be proficient with MS software programs
- WHMIS and Dangerous goods certification
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate others
Desired Qualifications
- Welding/Steel Fabrication Trade Certification is considered a definite asset
- CWB Weld Supervisor Certification is considered a definite asset
- Previous experience in planning and scheduling is considered an asset
