Shop Foreman

Shop Foreman responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the heavy equipment shop, providing frontline leadership to mechanics, apprentices, and shop personnel, ensuring repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections are completed safely and to company standards. Coordinates workflow, prioritizes repairs based on operational needs, and collaborates with the Shop Manager and field operations to minimize downtime. Requires strong mechanical knowledge, leadership ability, and the ability to balance hands-on work with crew supervision and operational coordination. Responsibilities include supervising mechanics and apprentices, assigning and prioritizing work orders, monitoring productivity and workmanship, mentoring junior staff, maintaining a safe and organized shop environment, performing diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, and ensuring proper documentation, safety compliance, and communication with shop and field teams. Certifications in Red Seal categories are preferred, with a valid driver’s license (Class 5) noted; the role emphasizes leadership, coordination, safety, and hands-on technical oversight.
