Job Summary
The Shop/Field Mechanic performs vehicle and equipment repairs, troubleshooting, setup, and preventative maintenance per the Fleet Manager. Responsibilities include routine maintenance to meet OSHA and DOT regulations, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, reading manuals and work orders, repairing work orders submitted by Mahaney staff, assisting with vehicle accidents and out-of-service violations, maintaining cleanliness of the shop and surroundings, building relationships with vendors and customers, ensuring repairs are complete and safe to operate, maintaining shop tools and inventory, and assisting with additional warehouse/yard/shop duties as needed. Requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, 2+ years related experience, knowledge of gas/diesel engines and transmissions, and a valid drivers license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment
- Working knowledge of tools and equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas/diesel engines, electronic and non-electronic systems; transmissions (manual and automatic); electronic systems; suspensions; braking systems; air and mechanical systems; ABS
