Job Summary
Shop Diesel Technician II will perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light/medium/heavy-duty diagnostics and repairs under supervision, and travel to customer locations as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, ordering parts, communicating with the Shop Manager and Service Writer, documenting work on Repair Orders using company devices, and adhering to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. The role requires the use of hand tools, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks, and involves diagnosing electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions, and other truck systems. The candidate will work within standard repair times, manage multiple tasks, and participate in required safety training while supporting a team-focused maintenance operation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years’ experience in a related field
- set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- DOT/FMCSA regulatory awareness and ability to pass pre-employment screenings
