Job Summary
Shipyard Work - Marine Electrician responsibilities include installing, repairing, and hooking up equipment for electrical services on a ship. Must apply knowledge of electrical theory to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less) according to specifications and drawings. Must follow safety procedures and implement Lock-out Tag-out for work. Includes basic electrical shipbuilding written and hands-on tests.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with electrical systems on ships or marine environments
- Knowledge of electrical theory and procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less)
- Familiarity with safety procedures and Lock-out Tag-out practices
- Hands-on electrical hookup and test experience
- Willingness to pass basic electrical shipbuilding written and hands-on test
