Job Summary
Shipyard Welder needed to safely and efficiently weld carbon steel plates and structural components for cruise-ship construction. Perform FCAW and, when required, SMAW welding, operate plasma cutting equipment, and perform tack welding. Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols, inspect welds for quality, and follow foreman/supervisor directions. Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shipyard environment with emphasis on safety, production standards, and equipment handling; shifts include day and evening with overtime as needed. Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of FCAW and SMAW welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work in varying shifts and conditions (heat, weather, noise)
- Physical ability to perform required lifting and movement of materials up to 75 pounds
